Services & What to Expect

Consultation/Initial Visit

During the initial visit, Dr. Reid will spend time reviewing your medical history and paperwork, discuss your concerns, and perform a complete chiropractic exam, including a spine and neuromusculoskeletal exam. Depending on your specific condition, Dr. Reid will take x-rays prior to developing an individualized treatment plan for you.

X-rays help to further evaluate the spine, can identify misalignments and disk degenerations, and can alert Dr. Reid of any serious spinal problems. There are instances where Dr. Reid may determine x-rays are not indicated or he may determine that additional imagining, such as an MRI, may be necessary. It is important to dress comfortably.

Second Visit/Relief Care

Following your initial visit, Dr. Reid spends time reviewing your exam and imaging in order to determine an individualized treatment plan. Reducing your pain and discomfort are priorities; therefore, Dr. Reid will discuss the findings and plan developed personally for you. The aim of relief care is to treat any inflammation, irritation, and pain as well as release nerve impingement, joint and/or muscle dysfunctions.

Treatment may include spinal and extremity adjustments, therapy and various other techniques depending upon the condition. Each person and condition are different; therefore, the number of sessions will vary per person and per condition.

Chiropractic Visit/Corrective And Restorative Care

Dr. Reid will discuss each adjustment that will be made and give you instructions to help provide a safe and effective treatment. These visits are perfect for discussing any achievements or concerns you may have with your care. Relieving symptoms is the goal; however, it is just as important to continue care once symptoms are gone to prevent reoccurrence. At times, you may experience a mild flare-up in symptoms, which is normal and why it is important to continue with care.

Re-Exam

At the appropriate time, the Dr. Reid may perform a re-exam to determine progress and future care. This exam consists of Range of Motion studies and orthopedic testing.

Wellness Care

When your body has fully recovered and healed and you are without symptoms, returning for intermittent chiropractic care is recommended to prevent further problems. These visits are generally quick and the frequency can be determined based upon your goals and lifestyle.
